   CERF in Action - Rapid Response

CERF allocates $2.1 million for emergency assistance to conflict-affected populations in central Mindanao in the Philippines

17 September 2008: Fighting in Mindanao has displaced and disrupted the lives of over 360,000 people. To respond to immediate, life-saving needs of affected populations, CERF has provided over $2 million in funding to four UN agencies and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Funds will be used to address the emergency food requirements of 140,000 individuals, the health needs of 38,000 families, the provision of safe areas for 10,000 families, and the water, sanitation and hygiene needs of about 197,000 people.
