14 May 2004: In an effort to further promote the goals of the report of the Commission on Human Security (CHS) Human Security Now, Mr. François Fouinat, the former Executive Secretary of the Advisory Board on Human Security (ABHS), held a press conference at the UN Information Center in Moscow. The conference provided a wonderful opportunity to elaborate on the utility of the human security framework and its relevance to the Russian Community.

In addition to meeting with senior government officials, jornalists, members of the academia and representatives from local NGOs, Mr. Fouinat had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Vladimir Lukin, Human Rights Commissioner in the Russian Federation, and Ms. Ella Pamfilova, Chairperson of the Presidential Commission for Human Rights. The Report was well received by both the Commissioner and the Chairperson.
