Held on 28-30 March 2006, the meeting was a 3-day regional workshop organised by OECD on the application of the human security framework in the West Africa region. Included among the participants were: Government bodies, international and civil society organizations as well as national and sub-regional networks working on security, governance and conflict prevention from the fifteen ECOWAS Member States as well as Cameroon, Chad and Mauritania. The Human Security Unit, while not able to be present at the meeting, nevertheless had its intervention tabled and shared with the participants.
