As a follow up to the commitment by the UN Member States to further discuss and define the notion of human security in the General Assembly, the Government of Mexico organized the "Workshop on Human Security" in Mexico City, Mexico. The purpose of the meeting was to enable a substantive discussion on the concept of human security, with the participation of representatives of Governments, international organizations, civil society and academia.
