CIESIN (Center for International Earth Science Information Network) is a center within the Earth Institute at Columbia University. CIESIN works at the intersection of the social, natural, and information sciences, and specializes in on-line data and information management, spatial data integration and training, and interdisciplinary research related to human interactions in the environment.

ESRI Eastern Africa is the Authorized Distributor for ESRI and a Trimble Business Partner for Mapping & GIS serving Burundi, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. The running of the company is overseen by a Managing Director assisted by an Administration Manager and a Sales & Marketing Manager who are heading the Administration and the Sales & Marketing team.

GSDI (Global Spatial Data Infrastructure Associatioin) is an inclusive organization of organizations, firms, and individuals from around the world. HAC (Harmonization, Alignment, and Coordination donor group) was established as a subgroup of the Donor Coordination Group (DCG), reporting to the World Bank as chair. The HAC secretariat was established to serve as a focal point for HAC related matters, manage the workflow, and coordinate HAC-related activities of members.

HumanitarianInfo.org supports the co-ordination of humanitarian assistance through the provision of information products and services. The HIC supports the decision-making process at headquarters and field level by contributing to the creation of a common framework for information management within the humanitarian community.

ISCGM (International Steering Committee for Global Mapping) examines measures that concerned national, regional and international organizations can take to foster the development of Global Mapping in order to facilitate the implementation of global agreements and conventions for environmental protection as well as the mitigation of natural disasters and to encourage economic growth.

ISO/TC 211 is responsible for the ISO geographic information series of standards. These standards may specify, for geographic information, methods, tools and services for data management (including definition and description), acquiring, processing, analyzing, accessing, presenting and transferring such data in digital/electronic form between different users, systems and locations.

ITC (International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation)is an internationally recognized centre of excellence in international education. ITC aims at capacity building and institutional development of professional and academic organizations and individuals specifically in countries that are economically and/or technologically less developed.

OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc.) is a non-profit, international, voluntary consensus standards organization that is leading the development of standards for geospatial and location based services. The specifications empower technology developers to make complex spatial information and services accessible and useful with all kinds of applications.

DEWA/GRID (Global Resource Information Database) is part of UNEP's global network of environmental information centres. GRID aims to provide and facilitate access to environmental data and information for decision-making and policy setting, and to underpin UNEP's review of the state of the world's environment and provide early warning on emerging environmental threats.

RCMRD (Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development) was established in Nairobi, Kenya in 1975 under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the then Organization of African Unity (OAU). It is a non-profit intergovernmental organization and currently has 14 contracting member States

Reliefweb is the world’s leading on-line gateway to information (documents and maps) on humanitarian emergencies and disasters. An independent vehicle of information, designed specifically to assist the international humanitarian community in effective delivery of emergency assistance, it provides timely, reliable and relevant information as events unfold, while emphasizing the coverage of "forgotten emergencies" at the same time.

UNGIWG (United Nations Geographic Information Working Group) is a network of professionals working in the fields of cartography and geographic information science to building the UN Spatial Infrastructure needed to achieve sustainable development.

UNOCHA GeoNetwork provides Internet access to interactive maps, satellite imagery and related spatial databases maintained by FAO and its partners. It's purpose is to improve access to and integrated use of spatial data and information. Through this website OCHA facilitates multidisciplinary approaches to sustainable development and supports decision making in agriculture, forestry, fisheries and food security.
