WSSD Partnership on Environmental Emergencies
The Environmental Emergencies Partnership was launched by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and the United Nations Environment Programme at the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD).
The Partnership ‘bridges gaps’ between emergency prevention, preparedness and response, and between disaster management stakeholders. It does so by supporting information sharing between environmental emergency stakeholders; facilitating collaborative activities between Partners, and increasing the range of stakeholders involved in environmental emergencies management.
The Joint Environment Unit provides a Secretariat to the Partnership.
