 Emergency Response Fund - ERF Réduire

The Emergency Response fund (ERF) for Afghanistan was established as part of the global humanitarian pool funding mechanism in February 2010.During the year three major crises occurred: Flooding, Earth Quake and Landslide in the North, flooding in eastern regions, and ethnic conflicts caused internal displacements in Central region.

In response, ERF quickly supported 18 emergency projects: 10 in response to flooding crisis, four in response to earthquake, three in response to landslide and one for the internally displace people at the total cost of 4.65 million USD.

 

As an outcome, 2,287 emergency shelters constructed, 104 Metric Tone food items distributed, and 1, 898 families   provided with Non food Items, 3,800 house hold heads supplied with safe drinking water. In total 7,099 families or 39,958 individual disaster and conflict affected families of Afghan people have been reached through emergency response operation of seven national NGOs and four international NGOs.
