As per the Secretary-General’s bulletin of 10 October 2006 on the establishment and operation of the Central Emergency Response Fund (ST/SGB/2006/10), the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator (ERC) regularly consults with the Inter-Agency Standing Committee established pursuant to General Assembly resolution 46/182 and the resident/humanitarian coordinators, as appropriate, on matters relating to the utilization of the funds in order to obtain guidance and support when determining priorities for their use.  more...

   CERF and NGOs
The CERF Partnership Taskforce was established as an ad-hoc working group in June 2007. The objective of the CERF Partnership Taskforce is to review procedures for CERF partnership arrangements between UN agencies and implementing partners with an aim to improve the timeliness and predictability of CERF disbursements. This will be done through the development of recommendations to accelerate the allocation process in order to ensure that all humanitarian actors are involved in the prioritization of needs and the decision-making process for the allocation of funding.  This would ensure that CERF is used in the most effective way.  more...
