Implementing Agency
ILO

Collaborating Partners
International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (ILO), international and local NGOs, local government authorities.

Objective
This project seeks to contribute to the elimination of labour exploitation and trafficking of children and women. The goal of this initiative is thus to build community capacity to prevent trafficking in children and women in the selected provinces in Cambodia and Viet Nam. Holistic community-based preventive interventions will thus be supported  in rural areas of Cambodia and Viet Nam with high incidence of trafficking.

Activities
Awareness raising campaigns, including women and children forums and formation of youth groups to provide sufficient knowledge and skills to avoid and prevent human trafficking and labour exploitation.

  • Rural skills training for food security and income generation, based on local market demand.
  • Support to community-driven networks for village planning, improving access to services, and community-based decision making.

Beneficiaries
Children and women at high risk of trafficking, as well as their families and communities, who are living in circumstances that render them vulnerable to trafficking for labour exploitation and human trafficking.

Outputs (including distinctive aspects of the project)

  • Training of trainers provided on gender equality and child labour.
