Consolidated Appeals Process (CAP): Humanitarian Appeal 2008 for Iraq Minimize

Consolidated Appeals Process (CAP):

On February 12, 2008, the international aid community appealed for a comprehensive international response to help vulnerable people  in Iraq over the next 12 months. UN agencies and NGOs said $265 million is needed to deliver urgent relief to Iraqis suffering under the humanitarian crisis inside the country.

As a planning mechanism, the Iraq CAP 2008 will contribute significantly to developing a more strategic approach to the provision of humanitarian aid. As a coordination mechanism, the CAP will foster closer cooperation between governments, donors, aid agencies and a range of other humanitarian organizations.
