 Conflict in Kenya Réduire

Violence and conflict over natural resources, mainly land, pasture and water are frequent events in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands of Kenya and in the border regions. These conflicts often revolve around competition for scarce pastoral resources, are fueled by the proliferation of small arms and light weapons and repeatedly destabilize lifestyles and livelihoods for communities in the border regions with Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Somalia and Sudan, with continued struggles for land, water and pasture. Tensions around the demarcation of administrative sub-divisions and the creation of new districts often trigger violence and consequent humanitarian impact.
