 Floods and Landslides in Nepal since August 26, 2006 Réduire


Introduction:

Heavy monsoon rains have caused floods in the mid and far western regions of Nepal. Particularly affected are the districts of Bardiya and Banke while the remote district of Achham has had one of the worst ever landslides.

To avoid any confusion with the Village Development Committee (VDC) names and insure that your data can be mapped as needed, use the VDC list.

  • Infrastructuredamaged Assessment  Form  

 

Standardised assessments forms allow to gain full access to the huge range of information contained in field data collection, on such issues as affected population, infrastructure damage and assistance needs. Using standardised assessment form will allow to consolidate the data among agencies. Consequently it will help you to plan your own programmes and avoid repeating surveys already done by others.
These two assessment forms have been developed by NRCS and DP-NET. The initial asssessment form is to be used for a rapid survey on the field, while the "infrastructure damaged assessment form" gives the opportunity for more detailed information.
NRCS have been given the responsibility to coordinate initial rapid assessments. If you plan any assessment in the affected area of the Mid and Far West Regions, please contact the focal point of NRCS in Nepalgunj:
