Media Centre * Humanitarian Reporting Workshops
dimanche 12 fĂ©vrier 2012

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) and the Integrated Regional Information Network (IRIN) are committed to speaking out on behalf of vulnerable populations and raising awareness of humanitarian crises across the world.

The media is, of course, central to this effort. In order to enhance coverage of humanitarian issues in the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia region, UN OCHA and IRIN have developed a series of humanitarian reporting workshops in partnership with International Humanitarian City and the Dubai Press Club. Through these, we hope to equip media professionals with the tools and techniques necessary to cover humanitarian issues in a timely and accurate manner.

The first Humanitarian Reporting Workshop took place on 24 March 2008, and was followed on 30 June 2008 by second workshop, on 'Reporting on HIV and AIDS'.  For more information,  please contact the Partnership and External Relations Officer, Nadia Evans on evans2@un.org.
