OCHA SUB-REGIONAL OFFICE FOR CENTRAL ASIA

Central Asia is one of the most seismically active areas of the world, which, together with floods, landslides, extreme cold and drought regularly causes economic and environmental damage. Uneven development has increased vulnerability of communities to these hazards. The picture is further compounded by possible regional implications of socio-political instability.
