 Novel Influenza A/H1N1 Epidemic Minimize
 
All countries in the region are on high-alert for a potential outbreak of the H1N1 virus.  WHO raised its pandemic alert for Influenza A to the highest alert level Phase 6.   In Southern Africa, more than a 100 cases of  influenza A (H1N1) infection have been confirmed. All countries in the region are implementing preventative measures and are updating and or revising the Pandemic Influenza Contingency Plans, to tackle a possible pandemic in the Southern African region.
