Security threats persisted during the week, particularly targeting humanitarian workers. In Marka, Lower Shabelle region, a WFP staff member was shot and wounded on 30 August, in a suspected failed car-jacking. The WFP staff member is recuperating at the Marka hospital after undergoing surgery.A 35 truck convoy transporting WFP’s assorted food commodities was caught in crossfire on 3 September, between Bakool regional forces and TFG forces at a checkpoint in Baidoa, Bay region.  Two people died and one was wounded.
