Humanitarian workers targeted in the South
The security situation in Somalia continued to deteriorate throughout the reporting week. At least 10 civilians were killed between 15 and 17 July following fighting in Mogadishu. On Sunday 13 July unidentified gunmen killed an agent for a WFP-contracted transport company in Bu’aale in Middle Juba region following a local dispute. The killing Sunday followed the shooting by three unidentified gunmen of a senior member of the LNGO SORDA during a distribution 11 July of WFP food to thousands of IDPs in Afgooye camps.
